Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer who will contribute to the planning, requirements definition, and design process for new features, ensuring testability is a key consideration. The ideal candidate will build and enhance automated systems for our primary applications, providing thorough documentation and reports to project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to the planning, requirements definition, and design process for new features with a focus on testability.
• Build and enhance automated systems for primary applications and correct any errors during implementation.
• Write comprehensive reports and documentation explaining implementations and their value to project stakeholders.
• Create, test, and monitor automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with developers and business owners to identify and address defects.
• Conduct smoke tests to ensure successful releases.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in software testing, validation, and programming.
• Proficiency in mobile testing and experience with Appium for iOS applications.
• Ability to read, write, and execute detailed test plans.
• Experience in writing detailed bug reports and tracking/resolving defects.
• Proficiency in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with agile methodology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to provide input in the planning and design process.
• Experience in creating documentation and reports for stakeholders.

Work Environment

Our dynamic work environment emphasizes collaboration with developers and business owners. Expect to engage in agile methodologies while working with advanced technologies for software testing and automation. The role involves both manual and automated testing, requiring a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This is a Contract position based out of Glen Ellyn, IL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
