Project Engineer – Mechanical Construction
Location: Tarrytown, NY

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support active mechanical construction projects across the Westchester region. This role works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foremen, and field teams to ensure smooth project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities including documentation, scheduling support, material tracking, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Project Documentation & Controls
- Perform material takeoffs, prepare change orders, and track time & material tickets
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and document logs to ensure timely routing and follow‑up
- Order materials, obtain vendor quotes, and track deliveries and procurement status
- Maintain accurate cost logs and assist with project cost tracking
Scheduling & Coordination
- Support project scheduling and coordinate daily/weekly activities with the foreman
- Attend project meetings and participate in BIM coordination sessions
- Track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project milestones
- Assist with on‑site management to ensure project progress aligns with deadlines
Field & Office Support
- Assist with construction supervision tasks as needed
- Ensure project plans, drawings, and revisions are properly distributed to field teams
- Support the preparation of owner billings and project‑related accounting items
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager
- Experience in mechanical construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping, or industrial systems) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and industry best practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
