Job Title: Process Control Engineer

Job Description

The primary role of a Process Control Engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to address challenges in industrial layout or manufacturing production. This position requires the ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Study time motion methods and speed involved in maintenance production and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Observe workers using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.
  • Observe workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or supplier development.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience in machining, foundry, casting, forging, or plastic molding.
  • Applied experience in quality systems, including APQP and PPAP.
  • Practical experience working on the shop floor, ideally as a Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional meetings with engineering, suppliers, and receiving facilities.

Work Environment

The role is based in a dynamic manufacturing environment where a strong emphasis is placed on quality assurance and efficiency. The position involves practical, hands-on work on the shop floor and requires collaboration across various departments. The use of standard office software and CAD tools is integral to the role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $38.00/hr.
