  • Conduct field surveys and assessments to evaluate existing plumbing and fire protection systems and gather data to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to develop design specifications and ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, new work plans, demolition plans, riser diagrams, schedules, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform design calculations to verify system performance, capacity, and accuracy, and incorporate findings into design documents.
  • Review project budgets and timelines and recommend cost-effective and feasible design alternatives and implementation strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership, and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and oversee the construction and installation of plumbing and fire protection systems to verify compliance with engineering standards, design intent, and industry practices.
  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection, to ensure fully integrated building systems.
  • Work with vendors on equipment specifications and selections, ensuring compatibility with project requirements and design standards.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations for project stakeholders, including internal leadership and clients.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit to design plumbing and fire protection systems and to set up new projects for the engineering team.
  • Utilize Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, to support documentation, collaboration, and presentations.
  • Stay current with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and participate in industry associations and events to maintain professional connections.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality work, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
  • Travel as required for project execution, including site surveys, punch-list activities, and field observations during construction.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and computer skills in daily interactions with colleagues, clients, and project partners.

  • Strong understanding of construction documents, particularly MEP/FP drawings and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of building systems and their integration, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for the preparation of plans, details, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Revit for modeling and coordinating plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with Bluebeam for reviewing, marking up, and collaborating on drawings and documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and apply engineering judgment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and project partners.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design, documentation, and project coordination.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and professionalism.

  • Interest in staying up to date with new technologies and trends in plumbing and fire protection design.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and incorporate new tools and methods into daily work.
  • Active participation or interest in industry associations and professional events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
