Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Designer responsible for creating detailed plans, designs, specifications, and drawings. These designs, based on calculations and written instructions provided by customers or engineers, will support the manufacturing of various products, including systems and standardized support components, using computer-aided design software.
Responsibilities
- Create, review, or revise product or plans and specifications.
- Design components for new or existing products or applications.
- Ensure accuracy of drawings and bills of materials generated by CAD/Designers and minimize or eliminate rework in manufacturing.
- Collaborate in a team environment to ensure the accuracy and quality of work.
- Ensure that design ideas are sound and align with budgetary constraints.
- Maintain working knowledge of the industry and apply industry-specific codes and standards with the specifications of assigned designs.
- Work with MicroStation, PDMS, 2D & 3D environments, and AutoCAD.
- Ensure secure maintenance of electronic files of design documentation and other engineering data.
- Verify drawings and documents are in accordance with engineering standards or release to manufacturing prior to ‘Release’.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of experience in a CAD/3-D modeling environment
- Proficiency in computer-aided drafting techniques and structural drafting.
- Ability to work with MicroStation, PDMS, 2D & 3D environments, and AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications or diplomas in AutoCAD.
- Skills in modeling software.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
