This role is for a skilled phlebotomist working in a physician office setting in East Mesa. You will draw blood from patients, perform specimen collection and processing, and ensure accurate entry of information into the laboratory computer system. You will prepare samples for analytical testing, support both pre- and post-analytical processes, and perform specified analytical tests as assigned while following established codes of conduct and laboratory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients in a physician office setting, including difficult draws and a variety of patient types.
- Receive and verify biological specimens, ensuring accurate identification and proper labeling at the time of collection.
- Enter patient and specimen information accurately into the laboratory computer system in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare specimens for analytical testing, including proper handling, centrifugation, and organization for distribution to the appropriate analytical areas.
- Support all pre-analytical processes, such as verifying orders, preparing collection materials, and ensuring proper specimen storage and transport.
- Support post-analytical processes, including organizing completed specimens, maintaining records, and facilitating result reporting as required.
- Perform specified analytical testing as assigned, following all laboratory protocols and quality standards.
- Follow all applicable codes of conduct, safety procedures, and compliance guidelines in daily work.
- Collaborate closely with medical assistants and other clinical staff to coordinate patient flow and specimen collection.
- Provide professional, compassionate patient care, maintaining a calm and reassuring presence during blood draws.
- Work effectively as a team player, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, cooperative work environment.
- At least 1–2 years of recent phlebotomy experience, including experience with difficult blood draws.
- Demonstrated proficiency in blood collection techniques and being a consistently accurate and gentle “great stick.”
- Hands-on experience with specimen collection and specimen processing in a clinical or laboratory environment.
- Ability to perform laboratory-related tasks such as preparing samples for testing and distributing specimens to appropriate analytical areas.
- Experience working in an IOP (independent outpatient phlebotomy or similar outpatient setting).
- Strong patient care skills, including the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and collaborate with medical assistants and other clinical staff.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to commute to and work in the East Mesa area, within approximately 20 miles of the site.
- Phlebotomy experience in a physician office or clinic setting.
- Familiarity with laboratory workflows, including pre- and post-analytical processes.
- Comfort working with a high volume of patients across diverse clinical situations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering data into laboratory computer systems.
- Commitment to following established codes of conduct, safety standards, and compliance policies.

This position is based in a physician office in East Mesa, near the intersection of Power and Broadway. You will work Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., on an 8-hour shift within that timeframe. The environment is a busy outpatient clinical setting where you will draw the physician’s patients and work closely with medical assistants and other clinical staff. The role involves regular use of phlebotomy and laboratory equipment for blood collection and specimen processing. Professional clinical attire appropriate for a physician office and laboratory setting is expected.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.36/hr.
