Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist who demonstrates proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients across all age groups. The ideal candidate will excel in pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws, particularly in medical office buildings. The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety standards and effectively communicate their importance to fellow employees. Additionally, the role requires the ability to provide orientation and training for patient services.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique.
• Handle pediatric blood collections and difficult draws in medical office buildings.
• Ensure compliance and safety standards are met and communicated effectively.
• Provide orientation and training for patient service roles.
• Process inpatient specimens efficiently.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma.
• CPT 1 License.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting (Pediatrics, ICU, High Volume) OR 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a reference laboratory setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Flexibility to be on-call and work the same day as needed.
• Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Work Environment

This role requires availability for all shifts, primarily evening shifts, and involves travel to various locations including Riverside, Wildomar, Temecula, and Moreno Valley. The position is strictly on-call due to union agreements, and candidates should be prepared to respond to same-day callouts. Training will be conducted on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, for a few weeks before transitioning to the on-call schedule. The dress code requires wearing scrubs, and the role offers a chance to gain experience and establish a career with a reputable organization. This is an opportunity to work per diem and on-call, with flexibility to work weekends and varying hours

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
