Join our team as a Phlebotomist, where you will perform blood collections using both venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all ages. You will be responsible for labeling and centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontaminating equipment, and updating patient information in accordance with established procedures. This role also involves collecting specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests, ensuring accurate data entry of patient information, and preparing all collected specimens for testing and analysis. Providing superior customer service to all patients and handling administrative and clerical duties as necessary is also a key aspect of this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
- Label and centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
- Collect and store specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests.
- Accurately and timely enter patient information into the system.
- Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
- Maintain accurate patient and specimen information logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients.
- Handle administrative and clerical duties as needed.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and blood draw.
- Ability to draw blood from 30 patients daily.
- Experience using 21 gauge (straight needle) and 23 gauge (Butterfly).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Work Environment
You will work in a fast-paced, primary care environment at a clinic. The work hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. You will collaborate with two other phlebotomists, managing a minimum of 30 patients per day, with a total of 75-100 patients daily. The role involves 80% processing and 20% phlebotomy, with 2-3 hours of the day dedicated to drawing blood.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
