Job Description
This full-time, first-shift Phlebotomist II role focuses on performing high-quality blood draws and specimen collection while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection in accordance with established safety, quality, and infection control standards.
- Conduct blood draws using appropriate techniques and equipment, including butterfly needles, to ensure patient comfort and specimen integrity.
- Collect, label, and handle specimens accurately, ensuring proper identification, documentation, and chain of custody.
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis in compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Provide clear, respectful, and compassionate communication to patients, explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns.
- Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring patient comfort before, during, and after specimen collection.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection, handling, and processing.
- Follow all compliance procedures, including privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory guidelines.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and workplace safety procedures to protect patients, colleagues, and self.
- Collaborate with laboratory and medical staff to support efficient and accurate diagnostic testing.
- Proven phlebotomy skills with at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection.
- Experience performing blood draws using various techniques and equipment, including butterfly needles.
- Strong specimen collection and handling skills, including accurate labeling and preparation for laboratory analysis.
- Phlebotomy certification or equivalent credential in phlebotomy.
- Ability to follow established safety, infection control, and quality standards in a laboratory or medical setting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to ensure patient comfort and build trust.
- Clear and professional communication skills when interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and compliance-related tasks.
- Experience working in a laboratory or medical environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory workflows and specimen processing procedures.

This is a full-time, first-shift position in a medical and laboratory environment. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
