Phlebotomist Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer‑focused Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will perform high‑quality specimen collection, support daily laboratory operations, and help maintain an efficient workflow. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and specimen collection using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Clearly explain collection procedures to patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Collect, label, and store specimens according to established protocols.
• Centrifuge, split, freeze, and prepare specimens for transport based on test requirements.
• Verify laboratory requisitions and ensure 100% accuracy when matching orders to specimens.
• Maintain equipment, record maintenance data, and follow proper decontamination procedures.
• Update patient information and ensure accurate documentation.
• Package specimens for transport while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Follow OSHA, DEP, and all regulatory guidelines.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer phone inquiries and relay laboratory results as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid state Phlebotomy Certification (as required by state regulations).
• Minimum 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• 2–4 years of experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong customer service orientation.
• High‑volume phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Excellent communication and patient‑interaction skills.

Experience Level

Intermediate

This is a Contract position based out of FAYETTEVILLE, AR.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
