Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team. This position involves working in a clinical setting, in Silverton, OR. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional healthcare services to our patients.
MUST HAVE
- Phlebotomy certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
- Previous customer service experience in any setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Proven reliability and positive attendance record.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the lab.
- Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
- Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
- Decontaminate and update patient information as needed.
- Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
- Ensure all laboratory requisition forms match specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test order requirements.
- Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
- Package specimens properly for transport.
- Store specimen samples at the required temperature and place them in the appropriate collection container or tube.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
- Handle telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to patients.
- Prepare the site for procedures, manage insurance, billing, and process samples.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in drawing blood and phlebotomy techniques.
- Experience with venipuncture, using both straight and butterfly needles.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to understand and follow physicians' orders.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient information management.
- Experience with data entry and specimen processing.
Work Environment
This position is part of a strong team environment within a global company, offering opportunities for growth and movement into different departments such as lab, sales, and client services. The contract duration is initially slated for 3 months, with potential extensions based on business needs and performance. While primarily based at one location, there may be rare instances where floating to a nearby location is required. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.46/hr.
