Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to process prescription exceptions, resolve claim rejects, and conduct member and physician outreach. This role involves entering member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system, researching and resolving insurance billing issues, and escalating prescription-related questions to a Pharmacist for interpretation. The technician will assist with patient or physician calls and perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Review and determine Prior Authorizations, approving or denying them before sending to a Pharmacist for final review.
- Handle various health plans and all types of medications.
- Manage inbound calls from members.
- Process prescription exceptions and resolve claim rejects.
- Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.
- Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and escalated member issues.
- Escalate prescription-related questions to a Pharmacist for interpretation.
- Assist with inbound and outbound patient or physician calls.
Essential Skills
- High School diploma.
- Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state.
- Nationally Certified Technician.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of residence.
- Strong computer skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- NHA certification.
- PTCB certification.
- Experience in insurance pharmacy, PBM, hospital settings.
Work Environment
This position offers a professional remote environment, requiring work across multiple screens and systems. Candidates must have strong WiFi and their own office space with a closed door. The role requires availability Monday to Friday from 7am to 9pm in the local time zone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks, including some holidays. Training will be conducted from 10am to 6:30pm EST. Following training, shifts will start at 8am, 9am, or 10am, depending on the local time zone. The company provides a computer, and candidates must have WiFi, a workspace, and a smartphone.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
