ob Title: Front End Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Front End Pharmacy Technician in Tempe, AZ. This position is primarily onsite, but remote work is available if you reside more than 50 miles away. You will be responsible for entering new prescriptions, managing exceptions, and communicating with physician offices and patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists under direct supervision in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Process new patient registration and handle prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines.
- Troubleshoot missing prescription information and interpret medical abbreviations.
- Load insurance plans and coordinate benefits for new patients.
- Handle correspondence with patients and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed.
- Provide assistance to pharmacists and communicate issues to staff as appropriate.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic PC skills, including starting and shutting down a computer, using a mouse, and accessing online information.
- Basic search engine skills and intermediate keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pharmacy technician certification and current AZ Pharmacy Technician License or Trainee license preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, PBM, or a call center setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1 year of work experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, PBM, and/or call center.
- Experience providing customer service and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Basic knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office Suite, or similar software programs.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically and confidentially.
Work Environment
Work hours are 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime available on weekends and evenings after a 12-week training period. The training schedule is strict, and missing more than 4 hours in the first 30 days may require a later start. The work environment is supportive, focused on high standards of service, and offers a 4-month contract with potential for extension.

This is a Contract position based out of Tempe, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.50/hr.
