This role offers a daytime schedule in a structured mail-order and closed-door pharmacy environment, ideal for pharmacists who enjoy teamwork, mentorship, and operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Lead or support daily shift huddles and help assign technician responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow.
- Serve as a primary resource for pharmacy technicians by answering workflow and problem-solving questions.
- Perform prescription verification checks (including PV1 and additional verification steps) to ensure prescription accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and patient safety.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, dosage, side effects, and safety when needed, ensuring clear understanding and adherence.
- Support onboarding, training, and mentorship of new pharmacy team members to promote consistent standards and best practices.
- Ensure smooth shift handoffs by organizing and preparing the workspace for the next team, including documentation and task completion.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures in all aspects of dispensing and operations.
- Assist with inventory oversight, including monitoring stock levels, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring proper medication storage conditions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and technicians to maintain a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Use pharmacy systems and electronic records to process, verify, and document prescriptions and related clinical information.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited program.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Ohio.
- Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, technicians, and other team members.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based environment.
- Comfort working in a structured, fast-paced, operational pharmacy setting.
- Experience performing prescription verification and clinical appropriateness checks.
- Ability to provide clear, concise, and patient-friendly medication counseling.
- Proficiency with pharmacy systems and electronic medical or pharmacy records is preferred.
- Interest in or experience with mail-order and closed-door pharmacy operations.
- Motivation to participate in training, mentoring, and developing newer team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to act as a resource for technicians and peers.
This position operates in a structured mail-order and closed-door pharmacy environment focused on accuracy, compliance, and patient safety. The schedule is primarily daytime, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotating Saturday shifts approximately every 5–6 weeks and no Sunday shifts. The role involves working closely with a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in a fast-paced operational setting that relies on pharmacy systems and electronic records. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $124800.00 - $133120.00/yr.
