Job Description

As a Pharmacy Floor Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation of prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This position involves working under the supervision of a pharmacist to fill daily drug orders, process returned drugs and assist in prepacking medications during low-volume times.

Responsibilities

• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
• Assist in prepacking frequently ordered medications, labeling and storing them as needed during low-volume times.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas.
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product not scanning properly.
• Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required and/or expected.
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at a moderate speed.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Possess and maintain a clear and active TX Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas Board of Pharmacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Prior authorization experience.
• 1 year of experience.

Work Environment

The role requires sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently throughout the day. You may need to work extended hours, with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine print, as well as the ability to hear normal voice sounds, is necessary. The work environment is characteristic of a pharmacy setting, requiring compliance with safety, attendance, and dress code policies.

This is a Contract position based out of Katy, TX.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Katy,TX.
