Job Title: Patient Education Specialist – Endocrinology- State of New Jersey active license
Job Description
The Patient Education Specialist supports a high-volume Endocrinology practice specializing in Metabolic Medicine, Thyroid disorders, and Diabetes. This role is primarily phone-based but may include in-person patient education sessions. The ideal candidate will be experienced in patient instruction and clinical coordination, with a strong understanding of EPIC EMR.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient education on glucose meters, Ozempic injections, and other treatment protocols.
- Confirm prior authorizations and process medication refills.
- Place and follow up on lab orders.
- Communicate with patients and providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in patient education or clinical support, preferably in endocrinology or chronic disease management.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- EPIC EMR experience is REQUIRED.
Work Environment
This is an on-site position in a collaborative outpatient setting. The role supports patient care and education while ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and documentation standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Princeton, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
