Job Description
We are seeking an attentive and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will document physician visits in the EMR system, scribe for multiple physicians, assist with instruments as requested, perform patient workups following doctor visits, and communicate with patients based on the documented plan provided by the physician.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
- Proficiency in medical assisting and medical terminology.
- Experience with patient care and EMR systems.
- Strong typing and data entry skills.
- Previous experience in ophthalmology and medical documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or associate degree in a life science.
- 1 years of on-site scribing experience required.
- Ophthalmic experience is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of patient care.
Work Environment
This position operates Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM based on clinic needs. Initial training will be held at the admin building in the Galleria for the first week. You will work as part of a team of 8-24 individuals, with each physician supported by 8 clinic staff members. Employees are assigned to three clinics, with this role based at one of the busiest clinics in Houston, serving over 100 patients a day. Occasionally, travel to other clinics may be required, with mileage reimbursement provided. The environment is extremely fast-paced, and the dress code requires navy blue scrubs, short, groomed nails, and hair tied back.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaumont, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
