Work Environment

This role is based in a high-volume retina clinic environment that is extremely fast paced, with daily patient volumes typically ranging from 80 to over 100 patients. Work hours fall between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with specific shifts scheduled within that window based on clinic needs; starting as early as 6:30 a.m. or working as late as 6:00 p.m. is rare and usually occurs only when the clinic is extremely busy. Initial training will take place at an administrative building in the Galleria area for a dedicated training day. The ophthalmic photographer works as part of a larger clinical team, typically within a group of 8–24 staff members, with each physician supported by approximately 8 clinic staff. The role is tied to three primary clinics, with a home clinic in a busy Houston location that regularly sees over 100 patients a day, and additional support provided to nearby clinics as needed. Schedules are provided two weeks in advance, and on rare occasions, travel to additional clinics may be required for training or special needs; mileage is reimbursed when traveling to clinics outside the assigned three. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs, with short, well-groomed nails required and all hair securely tied back to maintain a professional, hygienic, and safe clinical appearance. The environment emphasizes teamwork, precision, and efficiency, with strong benefits and opportunities for growth in an actively expanding organization.
