Night Shift Production Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor for our 3rd shift, operating from 6pm to 4:30am, Sunday through Thursday, with occasional 5-hour shifts on Fridays. This role is crucial in directing all production-related functions within the assigned department. You will supervise 32-35 employees, ensuring efficient operations and promoting cross-training within your team. The position is hourly, with overtime compensation for hours exceeding 40 per week.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all production functions within the assigned department.
• Promote and implement cross-training strategies.
• Ensure timely completion of all production paperwork.
• Engage in problem-solving to reduce downtime and implement effective solutions.
• Manage resources including materials, equipment, and manpower to meet production targets and deadlines.

• 3 years of supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the steel, assembly, or welding industry.
• Supervisory skills in production management.
• Proficiency in welding and assembly processes.
• Ability to drive continuous and process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.

• A degree is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is advantageous.
• Hands-on management style and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage escalations effectively.
• Strong Type A personality with a proactive approach.

Supervisors typically work 50 hours a week, with compensation for overtime. The role requires a hands-on approach, with occasional Friday shifts. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, demanding a proactive and energetic leader.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL.

The pay range for this position is $37.95 - $37.95/hr.
