Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused MRI Technologist to join our healthcare team. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accuracy throughout the exam process.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
• Operate Siemens MRI systems, ensuring proper settings, coil selection, and image optimization.
• Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures with a focus on safety and comfort.
• Screen patients for contraindications and follow all MRI safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
• Collaborate with radiologists and care teams to ensure high-quality imaging and timely workflow.
• Monitor equipment performance and report issues promptly.
• Uphold infection control procedures and maintain a clean, organized imaging environment.

Essential Skills

• ARRT certification.
• Experience operating Siemens MRI scanners.
• Strong patient care, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Cardiac MRI experience is highly preferred.
• MR certification preferred or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience in trauma hospitals is preferred due to high volume and complex cases.

Work Environment

The work environment includes two MRI tech positions: one night shift from 11 PM to 7 AM and one day shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with night shift being the priority. The facility operates at a high volume, handling 60-80 patients per day, sometimes up to 100, and includes complex cases such as research, anesthesia, and cardiac procedures. A new Siemens MRI machine is expected in 2027, potentially adding two to four extra techs. The organization offers clear growth paths from temp tech to PRN, staff, experienced tech, and even supervisor, based on individual performance and contribution.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Washington,DC.
