Molecular Biologist

We are seeking a Molecular Biologist to join our dynamic team in support of product development in plant biotechnology. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of molecular biology, specifically DNA manipulations and automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform DNA preparations, digestions, ligations, electroporations, DNA transformations, and PCR.
• Follow DNA cloning instructions under the guidance of lab personnel.
• Design and troubleshoot alternative cloning approaches as needed.
• Conduct high-throughput DNA cloning reactions with precision.
• Learn and utilize automation programs to streamline workflows.
• Troubleshoot automation errors with guidance.
• Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory consumables.
• Maintain the organization of workspaces.
• Ensure compliance with safety and waste disposal protocols.
• Represent the team in company-wide initiatives.
• Provide laboratory support in compliance with ISO 9001 and safety standards.

• BS in molecular biology with 1-3 years of experience or 7 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to molecular biology.
• Ability to learn quickly and be coached in new techniques and processes.
• Ability to assist in experimental design and participate in moderate to extensive problem-solving.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while seeking guidance when necessary.

• Candidates from non-plant biology backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
