Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Microbiology Lab Technician to join our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products through thorough microbial evaluation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test products for microbial evaluation at various stages of production processes.
• Perform daily cleaning of the laboratory equipment following assigned safety guidelines and company procedures.
• Maintain supplies and chemical inventory necessary for microbial testing.
• Receive and inspect samples for microbial testing, ensuring proper container integrity and label information.
• Calibrate microbial equipment and maintain records of all calibration results.
• Prepare supplies and conduct environmental monitoring sampling of lab hoods and manufacturing areas.
• Prepare and autoclave media and reagents for microbial testing.
• Perform growth promotion, sterility testing, microbial limit testing, and water testing following USP methods.
• Record and file paperwork and samples according to cGMP requirements.
• Communicate test results and findings to team members.
• Participate in company team meetings as needed.
• Expect to work weekends and late hours as required.

Essential Skills

• 2-3 years of experience working in a microbiology lab in a pharmaceutical, personal care, or industrial environment.
• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, life sciences, or related field.
• Experience in USP testing environment (USP 61, 62, 60, 51).
• Experience with autoclave and environmental monitoring.
• Proficiency in water testing by filtration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in personal care or industrial settings is preferred.
• Comfortable working with microbial lab media and chemicals.
• Desirous of being an engaged, congenial, and collaborative team member.
• High sense of urgency and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work with little supervision and engage well with diverse teams.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position with flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including potential weekend availability for overtime. The start time will be either 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. The work environment is dynamic, offering opportunities for professional growth as the company expands its facilities

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, IL.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bolingbrook,IL.
