Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) Pathology & Laboratory Medical Services (PLMS)
Overview
We are seeking experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) or Medical Technologists (MT) to provide high‑quality laboratory testing services in a state‑of‑the‑art civilian medical treatment facility. These positions support moderate and high‑complexity testing and ensure that patient care meets or exceeds national standards.
Required Certifications
Candidates must hold one of the following Generalist certifications:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) — ASCP BOC or AMT
- Medical Technologist (MT) — ASCP BOR or AMT
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an MLS or MT
- Experience working in hospital laboratory settings strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform moderate and high‑complexity laboratory testing using appropriate instrumentation, reagents, and supplies.
- Analyze, verify, and accurately report test results according to laboratory protocols.
- Complete STAT testing within 60 minutes of receipt into the laboratory.
- Communicate critical test results directly to providers per laboratory policy.
- Consult with healthcare providers on the clinical relevance of laboratory findings when needed.
- Maintain inventory and ensure adequate stock of reagents and supplies.
- Ensure laboratory safety and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Perform and document quality control and preventative maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment or reagent issues to maintain result accuracy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, QC, equipment maintenance, and audit compliance.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in proficiency testing as assigned.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience working with a hospital patient population, including elderly patients
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced, high‑complexity lab environment
This is a Contract position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.86 - $23.86/hr.
