Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist responsible for daily specimen processing in our designated laboratory. This role involves both technical and non-technical duties and requires effective communication with staff physicians and other employees regarding patient specimens. Collaborate with management to ensure the laboratory operates efficiently and accurately, maintaining high standards in quality assurance, quality control of reagents, instrumentation, and proficiency testing.
Responsibilities
- Process daily specimens in the designated laboratory.
- Communicate effectively with staff physicians and other employees regarding patient specimens.
- Collaborate with management to ensure efficient and technically correct systems and procedures in the laboratory.
- Maintain quality assurance and quality control of reagents, instrumentation, and proficiency testing.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory operations and medical technology.
- Ability to work efficiently in a medical laboratory setting.
- Effective communication skills with medical staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Completion of a medical technology or related field training program.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience in the laboratory specialty preferred.
- Laboratory license in the designated area is required, ASCP certification is preferred.
- Dependability and adaptability in laboratory responsibilities and scheduling.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Myers, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
