Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating the collection of payments from patients and insurance companies. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Review and verify patient information and medical records to ensure accuracy in billing.
- Utilize medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9, to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, conducting necessary research to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain organized records of all billing activities, including payments received and outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or coding.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems is essential.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus.
- Proficiency in handling medical records and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Claims scrubbing, out billing, posting EOB’s experience
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required for accurate billing practices.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
