Medical Assistant - Ortho

Join our team as a Medical Assistant in a dynamic sports medicine office, where you will provide compassionate care to patients while supporting back-office functions. Your role involves updating patient information, performing vital checks, preparing patient rooms, and managing electronic medical records using EPIC. • Provide compassionate care to patients and support back-office functions.
• Update patient information, including family histories and previous visit notes.
• Perform patient intakes, room loading, and vital checks.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and prepare charts prior to patient visits.
• Complete prior authorizations and restock rooms and supply closets.
• Manage inventory and triage phone calls for physician or patient questions.
• Update electronic medical records using EPIC.
• Work comfortably in a fast-paced sports medicine practice, dealing with a variety of patient injuries and conditions.

• Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required with an accredited diploma from a medical assistant school.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced sports medicine environment.

• Experience in pediatric patient care.
• Familiarity with sports medicine injuries and rehabilitation processes.
• Adaptability to work with varying physician personalities and paces.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

You will work in a high-volume sports medicine office, managing up to 100 patients per day alongside a team of 5 physicians and 5 other medical assistants. The role requires flexibility to work varying shifts, ranging from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on the doctor's schedule. The environment is busy and collaborative, requiring adaptability to different personalities and a focus on teamwork. The schedule includes shifts on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bound Brook, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
