Job Title: Medical Assistant - Back Office Float

Job Description

The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. Additionally, the medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
• Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management.
• Assist in examining and treating patient population.
• Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
• Take manual vitals and document patient information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, employees, and the public.
• Assess emergencies and act accordingly.
• Float between locations as patient queue demands.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma.
• 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.
• MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to take manual vitals.
• Active BLS certification.
• Active driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Independent, responsible, and organized.

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite in a medical office setting, with the requirement to float between locations in Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Weston, and Hollywood, FL. The schedule includes alternating weeks of 42.5 and 46.5 hours. The work hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and every other Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sundays are off.

This is a Permanent position based out of Miramar, FL.

The pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $40000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Miramar,FL.
