Medical Assistant - Podiatry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a Back Office position in a Podiatry setting. The role involves working primarily in the main office with twice-monthly visits to the Bridgewater office on Tuesdays. You will perform a variety of tasks to support patient care and office operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intakes and load patients into rooms.
• Perform vital sign checks and assist patients.
• Assist the provider in patient care and office procedures.
• Set up and break down rooms for office procedures.
• Update and manage electronic medical records (EMR) using Athena.
• Scan documents and update patient charts for medications.
• Restock rooms and supply closets, complete inventory.
• Triage phone calls for physician or patient inquiries.
• Update patient records and input orders.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Athena or Epic.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred but not required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in podiatry is a plus but not required.
• Proactive, outgoing, and able to multitask.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to efficiently manage patient flow.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Shift flexibility and ability to work at different office locations as needed.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, and includes two Saturdays per month (8 am-12 pm). The schedule is as follows: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with a slightly earlier end on Thursday at 5 pm, Friday from 8 am to 1:30 pm. Depending on operational needs, a full or half-day off during the week is offered when assigned to a Saturday shift. The office environment is friendly and supportive, with a team-oriented atmosphere, and provides the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients. The dress code is professional, and flexibility in hours is required due to variable end times. Monthly scheduling ensures you are informed in advance if needed at a different office.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bridgewater,NJ.
