Job Title: Mechanical Drafter
Job Description
This role involves working in the bearing manufacturing industry where you will engage in CAD duties using Solidworks and actively interact with various products. You will be responsible for completing repair dispositions on both new and used customer-supplied bearings and seals. This position combines aspects of drafting and technical work.
Responsibilities
- Perform CAD duties using Solidworks.
- Complete repair dispositions on customer-supplied bearings and seals.
- Engage in reverse engineering of customer-supplied parts utilizing precision measuring instruments.
- Generate drawings for new replicated parts such as bearings and seals.
- Use and read micrometers, calipers, and height gauges accurately.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Solidworks with a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Experience in 2D/3D modeling and design.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience working with hand tools including precision tools, calibers, high gauges, and micrometers.
- 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with reverse engineering and repair disposition.
- Drafting and engineering skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of both office and engineering shop floor areas, with a 50/50 split. Each employee will have their own workstation on the shop floor to effectively perform their tasks. You will be required to disassemble components that may arrive with oil, dirt, rust, and debris, necessitating physical interaction. All necessary PPE will be provided and reimbursed as needed. The position averages between 40-48 hours per week with the option to work extra overtime on two Saturdays a month.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
