Job Description
The Mechanical Designer plays a crucial role in all projects and new sales, responsible for creating initial drawings upon receiving orders. These drawings are reviewed by clients and revised as necessary before proceeding to production. This role requires drafting products in Solidworks, translating concepts from the sales team into 3D models for assembly and manufacturing, and maintaining strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, typically 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility in start and end times. While the role is primarily desk-based, employees are encouraged to visit the shop floor. The facility may sometimes have chemical smells due to work with resin/plastic, which could be bothersome to those with sensitive noses. This fast-paced environment allows the drafter to witness the entire process from design to final product testing, providing a unique and satisfying work experience.

Responsibilities
- Draft products in Solidworks.
- Translate concepts from sales team into 3D models for assembly and manufacturing.
- Create assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Standardize design process.
- Switch between projects and maintain organization.
- Answer questions from the production team and communicate effectively with customers and staff.
- 5 years of drafting experience.
- Proficiency in Solidworks.
- Back ground in mechanical, civil, or architectural fields.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience designing larger equipment/products requiring elevation drawings/views.
- Ability to dimension drawings and generate elevated drawings from model views.
- Experience with composites or plastics.
- Mechanical aptitude, such as hobbies like working on cars.
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Experience in piping design, composites, and plastics manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
