Senior Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop complex mechanical systems for advanced industrial and high-technology products. This role will work across the full product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through validation and manufacturing, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical assemblies, precision components, and structural systems for complex electromechanical products.
- Drive product development activities including concept generation, CAD design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production release.
- Apply engineering principles including GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials selection, and thermal/mechanical design.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product integration.
- Participate in design reviews and product risk assessments, and support continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on key projects.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to support product development and production.
- Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, and field issues through structured root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably within industrial equipment, automation, robotics, instrumentation, aerospace, medical device, or other high-technology industries.
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD platforms and PDM systems.
- Experience with thermal management, structural analysis, materials engineering, and precision mechanical design.
- Proven track record of bringing complex products from concept through production.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working in regulated, high-reliability, or performance-driven engineering environments is a plus.
This is a Permanent position based out of Scotts Valley, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
