We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support HVAC, MEP, and fire protection projects across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This role involves developing mechanical system designs, preparing detailed construction documents, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring all work meets NY State and NYC building codes.

Location: Middletown, NY

Schedule: 9 AM–5 PM, Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Support HVAC, MEP, and fire protection design projects from concept through construction
• Develop system layouts including ductwork, hydronic systems, ventilation, heating/cooling load calculations, and fire protection system design
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and construction documents
• Select mechanical equipment and coordinate specifications with vendors
• Ensure compliance with NYS and NYC building codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA requirements, and energy codes
• Perform site visits, field assessments, and coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural teams, and contractors
• Prepare engineering reports, technical analyses, calculations, and project documentation
• Assist with permitting packages and coordination with regulatory agencies

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of mechanical design experience in HVAC, MEP, or fire protection
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Experience preparing construction documents for commercial or industrial facilities
• Understanding of ASHRAE standards, NYS/NYC code requirements, and NFPA guidelines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

This is a Permanent position based out of Middletown, NY.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
