As a Mechanical Automation Engineer, you will lead the design, integration, and delivery of advanced industrial automation and robotic systems. This role combines hands-on mechanical design, project leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to bring high-performance, automated manufacturing solutions to life. You will serve as the bridge between concept and commissioning, partnering with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Responsibilities- Design and integrate advanced industrial automation and robotic systems.
- Lead project teams through the entire lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-performance manufacturing solutions.
- Partner with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless system integration.
- Utilize SolidWorks 3D CAD for mechanical design and SolidWorks PDM for data management.
- Size actuators, servos, sensors, and pneumatics for various applications.
- Apply GD&T principles to part designs and drawings.
- Communicate effectively with vendors/suppliers for machined parts to ensure quality and specification compliance.
- Engage in prototyping, 3D printing, testing, and debugging activities.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) at customer locations.
- Design robotic automation cells for applications such as assembly, material handling, and palletizing.
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a preference for Mechatronics focus.
- 6 years in mechanical design and sales support roles within the industrial automation sector.
- At least 3 years of experience with a robotic system integrator designing custom machinery.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD design and SolidWorks PDM software.
- Experience with machining and other fabrication processes.
- Skill in prototyping, 3D printing, testing, and debugging.
- Robotic automation cell design skills.
- Experience designing common robotic applications such as assembly, material handling, and palletizing.
- Experience integrating machine vision and 3D laser sensors.
- Design experience with Fanuc and Universal Robots.
- Robotic simulation software and programming experience.
- Experience designing complex robotic applications including vision-guided robotics, dispensing, and material handling.
The work environment involves collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers in a dynamic setting focused on delivering advanced automation solutions. You will engage in hands-on mechanical design and prototyping, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and tools such as SolidWorks for CAD design and PDM for data management. The role requires visits to customer sites for equipment installations and testing, emphasizing effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
