Job Summary
The LPN provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, and communities. LPNs work under the direction of Registered Nurses (RNs) and/or physicians/providers, ensuring professional accountability and promoting a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
Core Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Contribute to the nursing process by planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes under RN supervision.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments prescribed by authorized providers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, RNs, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Patient Support: Establish rapport with patients and families; provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient care records.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to infection-control policies, medication storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Delegation: Assign tasks safely to others, consistent with educational preparation and state law.
- Education: Provide ongoing education to patients and families based on care plans.
- Equipment Management: Ensure proper functioning of medical equipment and report maintenance needs.
Required Skills
- Clinical Skills: Vital signs assessment, medication administration, infection control.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills for electronic medical records.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to identify patient needs and respond appropriately.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited LPN program.
- Licensure: Current Oklahoma LPN license.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIHSS Certification (preferred for certain units)
- Experience: Clinical experience in hospital or similar healthcare setting
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Duncan, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
