Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in the design, integration, and anomaly resolution for our mechanical team. This position involves leading the sub-system development of spacecraft and satellite components, overseeing and assisting in the testing of components, and creating CAD models and technical drawings. You will also help lead the mechanical team and work cross-functionally with other team leads on critical design reviews and project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Design, integrate, and resolve anomalies for the mechanical team.
- Develop sub-systems for spacecraft and satellite components.
- Oversee and assist in testing of mechanical components.
- Create CAD models and technical drawings.
- Lead the mechanical team and collaborate cross-functionally with other team leads on critical design reviews and deadlines.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical design and engineering.
- Strong background in aerospace engineering.
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Experience in satellite design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Aerospace experience is required.
- Leadership experience in engineering projects is preferred.
Work Environment
The team consists of direct employees as well as contractors from different engineering services agencies. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be the most experienced person on the team, leading a group of mechanical and structural engineers. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential to significantly contribute to the success of a major program.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $77.00/hr.
