Job Description
Lead Installation Technician is responsible for leading the installation of residential and light commercial HVAC retrofit projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service. This individual serves as the lead technician on job sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, and acting as the primary field representative for the Retrofit Department.
Duties:
- Lead and oversee daily retrofit HVAC installation projects from start to finish.
- Install heating, cooling, ventilation, and indoor air quality equipment according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and local building codes.
- Mentor, and train installation technicians and apprentices.
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards before project completion.
- Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, warehouse personnel, and office staff to ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, equipment layouts, and installation drawings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, general contractors, and other trades.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and provide effective solutions in the field.
- Complete all required paperwork, installation checklists, and digital documentation accurately and on time.
- Verify materials, equipment, and tools are available before each project.
- Perform equipment start-up, testing, commissioning, and customer walkthroughs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and promote a culture of safety.
- Assist with warranty work, service support, and quality control inspections when needed.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
