Laboratory Technician

The Lab Technician will perform essential tasks under supervision to maintain and operate development work in the laboratory. This role involves carrying out technical tasks, conducting stability work, and managing the ordering of raw materials and samples. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for time-managing environmental stability and validation samples in collaboration with their supervisor.

• Conduct laboratory batching of prototype and final formulations, including liquid, emulsion, and surfactant formulas for clinical and consumer studies, product stability testing, and customer reviews using approved procedures after successful training.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, such as balances, pH meters, and viscometers.
• Independently manage time and ensure proper documentation of notebooks, logbooks, and other records, including raw material MSDS, in accordance with laboratory procedures and corporate safety and quality standards.
• Participate in investigating out-of-specification test results or stability issues and review findings with laboratory management.
• Handle sample management and ordering of raw materials and finished goods.
• Evaluate and analyze competitive products and report the findings.
• Assist in cleaning lab glassware using a dishwasher and maintain a clean laboratory space, adhering to all corporate health and safety protocols.

• Understanding of laboratory safety requirements and working with laboratory chemicals and the MSDS system.
• General understanding of chemical test methods, chemical instrumentation, and basic wet chemistry techniques.

• High school diploma or a 2-year associate degree in a technical or science field, preferably in Chemistry or Biology.
• Some chemistry lab work experience from high school or college is required.
• Prior experience in a laboratory environment, such as Research & Development, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control, is desirable.
• Experience working with personal care, hair care, skin care, or oral care products is desirable.

The laboratory environment requires adherence to safety protocols and maintaining equipment. The role involves handling chemicals and requires a focus on cleanliness and organization within the lab space.

This is a Contract position based out of Lakewood, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lakewood,NJ.
