Job Description
The Lab Technician will support the setup, teardown, and modification of test fixtures and lab equipment. You will work closely with engineers to support product development and testing timelines. The role includes maintaining test environments, including water systems and filtration used in lab testing, troubleshooting, and supporting basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing-related tasks. Additionally, you will document test results, equipment maintenance, and readings using Excel and Word, assist with teardown, recycling, and organization of tested products and materials, and package and ship prototypes, test samples, and engineering builds. Maintaining a clean, organized lab environment aligned with 5S standards is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities

- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-based environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Clear communication skills.
- Experience in a lab, manufacturing, or technical environment.
- Exposure to machine shop tools or fabrication.
The work environment is a beautiful, brand new facility located in Carlsbad, fostering a team environment with 15 lab engineers. While there are no electronics specialists, the position offers potential for long-term growth and promotion into an Engineer role, although this is not guaranteed. The schedule includes an alternate work week of 9/80, allowing every other Friday off. The facility features amenities such as an on-site self-service café, free gourmet coffee stations, company-sponsored fun events, an on-site gym, ping-pong, foosball, an outdoor bocce ball court, a BBQ, and a firepit. The working hours are from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with flexibility for starting between 6:30 am and 8:30 am. The role requires regular standing and walking, handling objects, tools, or controls, lifting equipment under test, and associated support equipment. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color distinction, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus clearly. A sense of smell adequate enough to identify gas and harmful vapors is also required. Limited travel may be necessary.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
