Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Manager (Lab Technician) to support and maintain Navy system integration labs that replicate shipboard environments. This role is essential in ensuring that labs are operational, properly configured, and ready to support software testing before deployment to ships. It is a hands-on and technical role, focusing on lab readiness, scheduling, troubleshooting, and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage multiple Navy system labs supporting different ship classes.
• Ensure lab hardware, computers, and software environments are operational.
• Support software testing and validation prior to shipboard deployment.
• Perform troubleshooting at the component level using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, cabling, and lab equipment.
• Perform cable fabrication and basic electrical/mechanical repairs as needed.
• Ensure systems are compliant with cybersecurity and antivirus requirements.
• Coordinate lab usage schedules across multiple teams.
• Support occasional shipboard installations and modernization events.
• Assist with troubleshooting shipboard issues based on lab findings.

Essential Skills

• Ability to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Clearance (or currently cleared).
• Hands-on technical background in electronics, electrical systems, IT systems, or military/Navy technical environments.
• Experience working with lab environments, test equipment, or fielded systems.
• Comfortable lifting equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior Navy or DoD program experience.
• Experience with rack-mounted systems, cable fabrication, networked systems, or lab/test environments.
• Familiarity with shipboard or industrial systems.
• Security or other cybersecurity certification (helpful but not required).

Work Environment

The position is fully onsite at the Navy Yard with occasional travel (approximately 10%) to support shipboard installations or testing. Overtime may be available, with time-and-a-half for technician classifications and straight-time OT for SME-level roles based on salary level.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Philadelphia,PA.
