Now Hiring: Cost Estimator – Construction & Development
📍 Location: Greenvale, NY (On-site)
🕒 Job Type: Contract to Hire, Full-Time
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Estimator to support budgeting, estimating, and financial oversight for high-end commercial and residential construction projects. This role is ideal for professionals with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in cost control and trade takeoffs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed job costing versus original budgeted costs.
- Confirm and write scopes of work for contracts.
- Collaborate with accounting for monthly billings and financial forecasting.
- Identify and communicate budget issues to project managers and principals.
- Estimate and take off all trades including architectural, structural, and mechanical.
- Participate in concept/schematic phase budgeting as a construction manager.
- Solicit and qualify subcontractors.
- Collaborate with design teams on value engineering alternatives.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a cost estimator.
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience with takeoffs across multiple trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Architectural).
- Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage project budgets and read blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with construction bidding and cost reduction strategies.
- Background working with general contractors.
- Familiarity with luxury residential and commercial development projects.
Work Environment
- On-site, five days a week in Greenvale, NY.
- General contractor and construction management setting.
- Projects include rentals, condominiums, high-end retail, commercial renovations, and tenant improvements.
- Collaborative team focused on private owner and developer-driven work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $44.00/hr.
