Job Title: Java Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable, event-driven applications using modern Java frameworks and tools. You will work on cutting-edge technologies including Kafka, Kubernetes, and Quarkus/Spring, contributing to the design and development of robust microservices and real-time data processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications.
• Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka and Kafka Streams.
• Utilize Kafka Streams and data structures to optimize application performance.
• Develop microservices using Quarkus or Spring Boot.
• Integrate and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Apply OptaPlanner/TimeFold for solving complex planning and optimization problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable code and follow best practices in software development.
• Manage project dependencies and builds using Maven.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.

Essential Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java, with deep understanding of Kafka Streams and data structures.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and Kafka Streams for real-time data processing.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous programming.
• Proficiency in Quarkus or Spring Boot frameworks.
• Familiarity with OptaPlanner or TimeFold for constraint solving and optimization.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with Docker for managing Kubernetes applications.
• Strong knowledge of Maven for project build and dependency management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in cloud-native development and deployment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $90.00/hr.
