Job Title: Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in writing and reviewing functional specifications, creating and reviewing technical documents, and determining the correct instrumentation for projects by reviewing electrical designs. Although programming is not required, the ability to read and interpret programs is essential to ensure functionality. The role involves extensive vendor management and adherence to project designs, specifications, timelines, and scopes. Experience in controls integration or experience with a custom OEM is highly beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Write and review functional specifications and technical documents.
- Create and review calculations and electrical designs to determine the appropriate instrumentation.
- Read and interpret programs to ensure they are functional and effective.
- Manage vendors and ensure adherence to project designs, specifications, timelines, and scopes.
- Collaborate closely with other I&C Engineers, electrical engineers, field engineers, and the systems and manufacturing group.
Essential Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Automation Engineer.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with design review.
- Minimum of 3 years experience writing and reviewing technical documents.
- Minimum of 3 years experience writing and reviewing technical PLC code.
- Experience working at a systems integrator or large custom OEM.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in instrumentation, PLC programming, automation, and controls engineering.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with SCADA and Allen Bradley PLC.
- Experience in electrical design, commissioning, and equipment installation.
Work Environment
The role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and facilities, contributing to the creation of radioisotopes for cancer treatment. The role is based primarily onsite in Fitchburg, WI, with the possibility of remote work one day a week. The company is involved in groundbreaking projects including medical isotopes for cancer detection and treatment, recycling nuclear waste, and striving towards creating fusion energy. The work environment is collaborative, with close interaction with other engineers and the systems and manufacturing group.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
