Description

Industrial engineer Industrial Engineer supporting production line design, capacity planning, and manufacturing optimization within a fast-paced defense environment. This role will act as the bridge across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality to translate demand into scalable, production-ready line designs. This position is focused on hands-on support of operating production lines, including time studies, line balancing, layout optimization, and data-driven improvements to throughput and efficiency. Candidates will support both existing production lines and new product introductions, working on layout modifications, material flow, and capacity scaling efforts. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering foundation with direct experience working in manufacturing environments (not purely logistics or operations), and has supported large-scale production areas with measurable impact to throughput, capacity, and efficiency.

Must Haves: 5 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering with IE responsibilities (flexible on title) - strong background supporting production lines (NOT logistics-only roles) Experience with facility layouts, line design, station readiness, and capacity planning Exposure to time studies, work content breakdown, and line balancing Background in material flow, value stream mapping, process mapping, or factory design (greenfield/brownfield) is a plus Nice to Haves: Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environments (preferred: automotive, aerospace, defense, or similar) Experience using tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, Minitab, Excel, or simulation tools (PlantSim, FlexSim, etc.) is preferred Must have a hands-on engineering mindset with ability to own projects and drive implementation vs. purely analytical/reporting work

This is a Contract position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
