Patient Transporter – Hospital Setting
Pay: $23/hr
Schedule Options:
- 3 × 8‑hour shifts (start time: 3:00 PM)
- 2 × 10‑hour shifts (start time: 3:00 PM)
- Days: Varied — weekends required
Overview:
A large, well‑known regional hospital in Ventura County is looking for dependable Patient Transporters to join their team. This role is essential for maintaining smooth hospital operations and ensuring patients get safely and comfortably to the departments they need.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Safely transport patients between rooms, units, and various hospital departments
- Assist with patient movement to and from imaging, procedures, admissions, and discharges
- Transport patients to the morgue following established safety and sensitivity protocols
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety during every transfer
- Communicate with nurses, techs, and other clinical staff to coordinate timing and workflow
- Maintain transport equipment (wheelchairs, stretchers, gurneys) and report any issues
- Provide professional, patient‑focused service at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Customer service mindset and strong communication skills
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable assisting with patient mobility
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends
- Previous hospital or caregiving experience is a plus, but not required—training provided
