Job Title: FPGA Engineer
Job Description
As an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and verifying complex digital designs for spaceborne products across both commercial and defense programs. This role requires a self-starting team player who can take ownership of projects from design through to deployment in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, synthesize, and verify digital logic designs for FPGA devices.
- Interface with DSP engineers to convert signal processing designs from mathematical models to VHDL code.
- Identify product functions that can be obtained as third-party IP and those needing internal development.
- Develop VHDL code for various functions including signal processing, network interfaces, and clock management.
- Maintain code base in the version control system.
- Coordinate with embedded software developers to define interfaces between programmable logic and embedded processor cores.
- Develop functional simulations to verify VHDL code implementation.
- Perform bench-level verification of logic implementation and assist with product testing.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
- Expertise with digital logic design, simulation, and synthesis using VHDL.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx devices and Vivado software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of sampling theory, digital signal processing, and spectral analysis.
- Experience with communication waveforms such as QPSK, 8-PSK, and DVB-S2.
- Experience with revision control tools like Git and MATLAB software.

The position offers a 9/80 work schedule located in Camarillo, California, in a fast-paced environment. The company collaborates with some of the top aerospace and defense primes in the country and provides competitive benefits, including a 401k plan.
