Financial Analyst IV

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team and support a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will focus on financial planning and analysis (FP&A), month-end close activities, and providing actionable insights to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing finance, profit and loss management, and advanced analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities, including creating and posting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations (accruals and prepaid expenses), and variance analysis.
• Lead annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes for multiple departments.
• Manage profit and loss (P&L) statements, including overhead and direct labor variances.
• Oversee headcount, payroll, and compensation/benefits data for 8–10 departments (approx. 350 personnel).
• Conduct inventory management analysis, including purchase price variances (PPV).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (supply chain, engineering, operations) to support manufacturing initiatives.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
• Work autonomously in an evolving environment, offering solutions to improve financial processes.
• Utilize advanced ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, data analysis) for reporting and analytics.
• Workload split: approx. 30% month-end tasks, 70% trend analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years in Finance FP&A or related field (flexible for strong candidates with relevant experience).
  • Manufacturing industry experience required; medical device experience preferred.
  • (book entries, reporting).
  • Experience with actuals reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced ERP (SAP/Oracle) and intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of overhead and direct labor variances.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and PPV.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in ambiguous environments.

This is a Contract position based out of Westford, MA.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Westford,MA.
