What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Engineer position at Actalent?
Field Service Engineer - Rockford area OR Wisconsin area (80% Regional travel)
Installs and starts up new equipment or modifies existing equipment at customer's facility to ensure proper operational functionality according to the equipment specification, and scope of work outlined in the Sales Order or Field Service work instruction.
Provides on-site technical assistance to help repair equipment, reviews equipment reports and documentation from the customer and other field representative’s to aid in trouble-shooting equipment faults.
Then tests and inspects equipment to determine root cause of the malfunction.
Will service a cluster of companies at each location across the US.
Need to reside within 90 minutes of the given locations however good chance they will be traveling across a good portion of the US.
80 percent overnight travel will be required
Need to be prepared to be living out of a hotel Monday - Friday most weeks Will typically work 10 hours of OT per week
3 years of experience required (10 years of experience preferred)
1 years of experience traveling to customers – more experience the better
Strong mechanical capabilities for installs / retrofits / read blue prints and strong understanding of mechanical aspects Electrical - wiring / conduit / piping for water and gas required
PLC programming or troubleshooting highly preferred
Experience in the heat treat industry or working on industrial size furnaces would be a huge plus
What they are not looking for is candidates that have worked on smaller type equipment, ie, x-ray machines, dialysis machines, semiconductor, telecommunications. A true OEM field service candidate is what we need

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr.
