Job Title: Field Project Engineer
Our client is looking for someone with a mechanical engineering background with specific experience supporting construction or industrial installation projects, preferably involving conveyor systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager with day‑to‑day coordination of installation activities for a multi‑story conveyor system.
- Support mechanical installation planning, sequencing, and coordination with subcontractors and field teams.
- Assist with material look‑ahead planning, ensuring required components are identified, ordered, tracked, and available for installation.
- Coordinate logistics and deliveries, including scheduling, staging, and on‑site material movement.
- Support procurement tracking (vendor research, quotes, purchase order tracking) without budget ownership.
- Manage RFIs (Requests for Information), including preparation, submission, tracking, and follow‑up with engineering and subcontract teams.
- Assist with Change Event Request (CER) documentation and tracking.
- Support project schedule updates by collecting field data and reporting progress to the Project Manager.
- Perform site walks and observations, documenting installation progress, issues, and coordination needs.
- Assist with device and equipment placement coordination for field installations.
- Coordinate third‑party inspections, equipment deliveries, and shipment logistics as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with subcontractors to ensure questions, issues, and action items are addressed promptly.
- Proactively communicate installation challenges, delays, or coordination issues to the Project Manager.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.87 - $45.67/hr.
