Field Engineer

Join a dynamic team as a Field Engineer responsible for coordinating construction activities for a utility-scale wind farm project. You will play a pivotal role in the electrical construction process, including trenching, laying AC/DC collection lines, inverter work, and more.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operations on the job site and oversee the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Assist with planning, organizing, and monitoring construction activities, including schedule management and reporting.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with the project scope and maintain accurate QA/QC logs.
• Assist with cost control by monitoring project logs, addressing scope gaps, and preparing change orders.
• Manage materials by tracking deliveries, inspecting for compliance, and requisitioning supplies as needed.
• Monitor subcontractor work and communicate progress to owner’s representatives.
• Provide administrative assistance, including tracking and submitting credit card receipts, time cards, and new hire packets.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with subcontractors, office staff, and engineering teams.
• Drive vehicles equipped with tools and materials to various job sites.
• Be willing to travel extensively and work approximately 70 hours per week during construction season.

• Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent education and experience.
• Prior construction experience, including internships.

• Experience with commercial construction and construction management.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform inspections.
• Strong project management skills and familiarity with GPS locating technology.

The Field Engineer position is entirely outdoor-based, requiring presence on the job site throughout the project duration. Expect to work in various weather conditions, from extreme cold to rain and heat. The role involves extensive travel, with accommodations in hotels, motels, or temporary lodging. You will work approximately 60-70 hours per week, including Saturdays, with scheduled rotations allowing for time off. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling City, TX.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $38.00/hr.
