Job Title: Construction Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to support the successful planning and execution of commercial construction projects valued at over $5M. In this role, you will own the estimating process from conceptual review through bid submission, working closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to deliver accurate, competitive, and well‑supported cost proposals.

This position is ideal for an estimator who takes pride in accuracy, understands the full construction lifecycle, and values being part of a collaborative, professional team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation to fully understand project scope, materials, and labor requirements
• Prepare thorough and accurate cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs based on drawings and specifications
• Develop and submit complete bid packages, including cost breakdowns and backup documentation
• Solicit, review, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure cost‑effective solutions
• Maintain and update internal cost databases with current labor, material, and equipment pricing
• Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates as needed
• Communicate with internal teams, clients, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify scope and pricing assumptions
• Utilize estimating software and Microsoft Office tools to build and document estimates
• Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, and material pricing to improve estimating accuracy

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in construction estimating and construction management
• Strong background in commercial construction projects over $5 million
• Hands‑on experience preparing competitive bids from concept through submission
• Proficiency with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, On‑Screen Takeoff, Sage, PlanSwift, or ProEst
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams

Work Environment

• Fully in‑office position based in Saratoga Springs
• Monday through Friday, first shift schedule
• Stable workload within a professional, team‑oriented construction environment

This is a Permanent position based out of Saratoga Springs, NY.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Saratoga Springs,NY.
